YGAM - Gaming and streaming

This 60-minute workshop explores why young people stream and watch content on streaming platforms, highlighting the potential harms. You will learn about the connection between streaming and gambling, and gain confidence in discussing these topics with young people.

Topics covered:

- Understand why young people stream, and/or watch content on streaming platforms

- Understand the risks of streaming and its potential for harm

- Recognise the relationship between streaming and gambling

- Build confidence in talking to young people about streaming and watching content on streaming platforms

- Know where to find further help and support

The Funding Information Services Team will be delivering a training session focusing on AY 25/26 updates confirmed so far. Within this session an overview on how to prepare students for Undergraduate application launch will be included, covering mailing lists, resources and key messages. During this session the FIS Team will also produce MI data to draw insight on application trends by household income, independent students and timely applications. This session should provide you with the tools and insight required to assist your students with readying for their student finance applications, ensuring they are applying on time and correctly.

Tell us what you are doing in your institution, what has worked and what hasn't. This is also a great platform to ask questions of fellow members if you are new to National Student Money Week. 

Space is limited as we want to keep the numbers of participants at a level conducive to an effective discussion, so please book quickly to avoid disappointment. 

There are two different sessions to choose from. Due to high numbers we can only accept one session booking per member. If more than one member of your team wishes to attend, we recommend attending different sessions to benefit more fully from the varied discussion we expect.

The theme this year, as voted on by our members, is Survive & Thrive: Building Financial Resilience, taking place the week of 3rd to 7th March 2025.

At this event we will showcase the Campaign Pack and resources that will be available to help you deliver this campaign on your campuses, as well as the external partnerships that have been developed to support this national campaign.

This online event is also open to non-members, who are keen to engage in National Student Money Week activity. 

Learn from TOTUM’s latest annual cardholders’ satisfaction survey how students are spending their money. Discovering, how, why, and where students are spending their money today and how their spending habits have changed over the course of time.

This course is for experienced advisers who have a good understanding of the UC system and its place within the benefits field.

Learners will receive a detailed overview of the complex legislation surrounding disabled students and their entitlement to UC. By the end of the course learners will be able to complete a calculation of a student’s entitlement to UC by looking at student income, student finance award letters in conjunction with UC award notices, and will be able to challenge adverse UC decisions.

There is two dates for this session. You only need to attend one.
