NASMA are very excited to partner with the Metropolitan Police – a partnership that has started as a result of National Student Money Week, but one that will continue beyond this single campaign, and give our members access to amazing resources covering financial exploitation, sextortion, and crypto assets.
The Metropolitan Police have produced three toolkits on the topics of financial exploitation, sextortion, and crypto assets. Each toolkit provides an amazing amount of information that is all aimed at raising awareness of these crimes. The toolkits also include:
– An explanation of what these crimes are
– Tips for prevention
– Signposting info if victimised
– Template copy for institutions to share via their own communication channels
– Supporting assets in the form if images
– Suggested social media hashtags so the Metropolitan Police can see the reach of their toolkits (and don’t forget to use #nsmw24 if using as part of money week)
Whether you operate within the Metropolitan Police region or not, these resources will provide valuable message to help students stay safe.
